The Leather
Zen Buffalo Boxing Co. uses exclusively Horween leather for The Legacy Collection of punching bags. Horween Leather Company was founded in 1905 in Chicago, IL, and still uses traditional, old world tannages and techniques. Their leather is made by hand, the same way as generations ago.
Horween Dublin - (The Jack, The Dempsey, The Joe) Dublin is tanned using a Cordovan vegetable tanning liquor formula which is over 100 years old. In the tanning process, the leather incorporates a richer blend of oils and waxes, which results in a leather that will age beautifully. The leather is infused with a rich blend of natural waxes and then ironed to create a smooth surface with a rich tonal appearance that showcases the natural grain. A premium leather with a distinctive pull-up. Horween Derby - (The Rocky) Derby is vegetable tanned infused with a rich blend of waxes, and tumbled to emphasize the natural highs and lows in the leather. It is a more rugged version than Dublin leather and displays a softer temper. The leather is highly distressed and exhibits a rugged appearance as a result of the tumbling process. Derby exhibits great tonality with a rich pull up and will age beautifully by developing a rich patina.
The Hemp Rope
The rope is made from 100% organic European long-strand hemp. 12mm for the boxing frame. 16mm for the rope chain on the punching bag. The hemp is unbleached and undyed.
